Whisker & Wrench

For shelters, rescues and animal control

Let's work together

Whisker & Wrench builds gear and software for the people who care for animals. Here's what we can do for you, what it costs, and how your donors can help pay for it.

What we can help with

Always free

Build plans

Every plan on this site is free for shelters and volunteers to build. Send a volunteer to the hardware store with the shopping list and they're set.

Hands-on help

Need something sized for your kennels, a plan we haven't written yet, or help running a build day? Tell us what you need and we'll quote it.

Now listening

Software pilot

We're designing tools for records, calls, field visits, and new adopters. If your current software gets in the way, we want to hear about it. Pilot shelters help shape what we build.

Free with any project

Fundraising kit

A short write-up, a dollar goal, and photos and stats you can share with donors, ready to drop into a fundraiser.

Pricing

Sliding scale

Paid work is priced to cover our time and materials. Larger or well-funded organizations pay the full rate. Small rescues pay less.

No surprises

You get a written quote before any work starts. If it doesn't fit your budget, we'll say so and look for a smaller version that does.

How to pay for it

Run your own fundraiser, then pay the invoice

Your shelter runs the fundraiser (a GoFundMe charity fundraiser works well), so donations go straight to you. If you're a registered nonprofit, that keeps them tax-deductible for your donors. Once it's funded, you pay our invoice. We supply the fundraising kit so you're not starting from a blank page.
